Swimming in search of the Romans

Partnership working always brings a new dimension to an activity – our recent union was no exception.

Rob Longworth from The face of Roman Scotland – Trimontium Museum brought his in-depth knowledge to the banks of the Tweed where a group of intrepid swimmers were keen to see what historical artefacts we could find in the river running alongside the Roman site.

Sadly, we did not discover any Roman treasure or significant finds but were delighted with the Victorian pottery pieces we discovered in the river flow.

It proved to be an educational day with a great swim with a difference!
