Event details
Come with us and explore the wonders of Shetland ( Mainland)) – steeped in myth, magic, history and phenomenal swims.
Each day we will go out on a day of discovery around the islands which Take to The Water will map depending on tides and weather conditions. We will aim to do 2-3 short swims per day, while exploring the islands amazing history, landmarks and tranquil swim spots.
The aim is the trip is to explore new places, make new swim buddies and be absorbed in the wonders of the world around us.
The cost INCLUDES shared accommodation, communal breakfast and evening meals as well as transport around the Islands. You will provide your own transport to and from Shetland.
Travel options to Lerwick are either by flight or by Ferry.
We will arrange pick up from the airport or ferry port to our accommodation where we will get ourselves sorted and head out for our first adventure @2.00pm on Monday the 15th June 2026 and will finish our group trip at @3.00pm on Friday the 19th June 2026 to allow folk to catch the Ferry / flights back home.
As safety is our number one priority, we will reserve the right to change the activities if the weather does not support safe swims.
The adventure is suitable for all abilities of swimmers – most of the swims are short and fun with some longer optional swims. There will be some walking to swim spots and clambering over rocks to get into spots.
We aim to create variety and will work with the weather to share with you as many different types of swims as possible.
This year we have created an option for you to build an extra adventure by preceding it with a trip to Orkney as the ferry rather neatly stops in Kirkwall on its way to Lerwick.
To keep travel costs as low as possible we will provide transport & accommodation so this does not needed to be included in your booking.
More information on the Orkney adventure can be found in the Orkney event booking.
